Episode #5: Skyler Des Roches

“…It’s impossible because the trail doesn’t exist? Or it’s impossible because we’ll have to push our bikes…?”

Skyler Des Roches is an accomplished bikepacker and backcountry enthusiast and has completed trips through Patagonia, Canada, Chile, Colorado, and more. Most recently, Skyler blazed his own route through the British Columbia wilderness using the BC Backroad Mapbooks, Google Maps and Flickr for reference as he constructed the route. We talk to Skyler about his planning process, what he looks for in a bikepacking bike and his advice for riders looking to get into the sport. You can follow along with Skyler’s adventures on Instagram at @skylerdesroches.
