“People have this misconception that women don’t have enough experience bike touring…the best way to fight that, in my experience, is to smash out epic rides.”
Pepper Cook is an ambassador for Tumbleweed Bicycle and Surly Bikes and lives in Australia. After growing up in Colorado, Pepper left the states to spend time in New Zealand and South Africa before completing her first tour from Brisbane to Melbourne, cementing her love for solo riding. We talked to Pepper about how she got into touring and bikepacking, how her kit has evolved with the terrain she rides, and how she combats the misconception that women shouldn’t tour alone. We also cover “basketlife” and why you should consider not dangling your cup.
